Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Regular Moes food but not the cleanest one around.

Think Chipotle but with a touch of Hard Rock Cafe. This place is basically a classier looking version of Chipotle in that you order your food Subway style as I like to call it, controlling which ingredients go into your food. I'm probably biased against Chipotle at the moment because my last two impressions were that Chipotle was edible but not great. I'll leave that to my Chipotle review. This place at the moment is experiencing a soda fountain malfunction so they will instead offer to give you canned sodas or lemonade or water instead. Personally for me that's fine since I only ever really drink water! I ordered a Homewrecker Burrito, as did my divorcée mother but that's another story for not here. I ordered mine with steak because a steak burrito has yet to fail me. I got it with rice, pinto beans, sour cream, guacamole, mushrooms, pico de gallo, cheese, lettuce, etc. and like Subway style it is made in front of you. It's not bad at all. I felt satisfied. I'm full. It was a $9 burrito, it wasn't the best burrito, but I'm assuming everything on the east coast is inflated for whatever reason. Also I'm going to be in the middle of nowhere I won't complain until I go back to LA. The place was clean, staff were super friendly and helpful! Not much to complain about really.

"Welcome to Moe's!" With great food at a great price and being just down the road, Moe's is most definitely a lunch hotspot for Pete's RV Center. We have been going to this Moe's since it opened a few years ago and have never left unsatisfied. Some of our favorite items to eat at Moe's are the quesadillas, stacks, nachos, and of course the queso and chips. Other than the food one of the best part about Moe's is the loyalty visit program. Every time you go in to grab a bite to eat you can enter your phone number to receive free soda, chips and queso, and even entrees! The only thing keeping Moe's from receiving five stars is the occasional slow line around peak lunch and dinner hours. We would highly recommend Moe's to anyone looking for a quick, cheap, and delicious meal!

I just had the worst burrito I've ever had. The first half of the burrito was quite bland, but then it got worse. Turns out all the spices and salt were in the second half. It was almost inedible and I'm not a picky eater. I gave two stars because I've had decent burritos from Moe's in the past, but even so, never great.

I was so looking forward to a great meal and I was so disappointed. The server became impatient with several customers when she had to repeat herself. Then it was my turn and I had to ask her to repeat herself as I did not understand her choices. She sounded like we should ready know all the options. Then I said I was hard of hearing and asked if she could repeat and then she tried to perk up her attitude but still she was giving me a I am bored with this customer service thing. Then my order moved to the next worker. He added my items and slid across so fast half my items can out of the bowl. He added some stuff back but not everything Now time to sit down and eat. The chicken tasted more like unseasoned tofu The rice tasted like it was made last week Dry and tasteless Skip this moe's unless you are without options

It's not gonna threaten Chiptole but it's really good. The only drawback is the constant yelling of "Welcome to Moe's" when anyone walks in -- never in sync. Good food, not greasy, just fresh and they listen mostly to your order.
(4)Nicole J.
The dish I ordered was very tasy. The staff is very friendly...the restaurant always looks clean. There was only one time the lettuce looked a little brown but I came in a little before closing so I'm sure that's why. Not a fan of the williston location. The staff there is not that friendly...

This is hands down the worst Moe's I have visited. There were three people behind the counter but only one actually making food. It took forever. We ordered a simple kids quesadilla....with cheese only...they managed to overcook it. The crunchy taco shell was sodden by the time we actually made it to the table. They were seriously skimpy on the queso for the nachos. In fact ALL of the toppings were skimpy on the nachos. The rice was dried out and gross. This was our second visit. At least the quacamole was edible on this visit....last time it was so gross that we tossed it.

Didn't even get the opportunity to dine here as the wait to be served was "redonkilous". There were 5, count 'em 1,2,3,4,5 people behind the counter and the line expedited 2 orders in my 15 minutes waiting. I walked out because There were still 12 people in from of me, at that rate it would be several hours before I would get my mediocre burrito bowls and passable chips. Stop by the Starbucks next door and the barista supported my frustration with the place as well. Recommend stopping by when the parking lot is empty.
(1)Somany Q.
I ordered the burrito bowl with steak, which also came with a large pile of chips. I topped it all off with a large soda. The restaurant employees were attentive and moved along without rushing me thru my order. The food was good. I will be back to this location in the future.

I love this Moes! The Chicken Club Quesadilla is fantastic, and all of the employees are fun and helpful. Marcus is always friendly, and remembers us from previous visits. I feel like even though they get a ton of customers, they take the effort to socialize and welcome each and every person through the door... And not just by saying "Welcome to Moes."
(5)CJ G.
"Welcome to Moe's!" I must be honest...That never gets old to my ears! This is one of a FEW fast food places that I will eat at. Why? Its just a great experience over all. The customer service here is good. Sometimes its slow like any restaurant. The employees seem to be nice most of the time as well. I have had a few run ins where its questionable but they do hire high school kids and some colleges kids. So on a busy night I can some what understand...To a point. The food here is pretty good for what it is. Fast food Mexican! When you want it you will get it! The burritos and chicken bowls are all great. The one thing Moe's has down is their consistency! So you always know what your buying. So now on to my FAVORITE part of the restaurant! The soda machine! When they say 100 different flavors they are not kidding! I gave up soda years ago when I lost over 125 pounds on my own but this place makes me break my rule! So it's probably a good thing I only come here every few months! If for no other reason you should check out Moe's this is the reason to go. So this is my fast food stop in Vermont and my one bad habit when I eat out! You always know what to expect and best of all the junk food is consistent! Hail the Grease of Moe's! Drink the Kool aid of Moe's and die a little bit inside! Its well worth it!

First time here. Can't say I enjoyed it, but it was alright. I picked up a couple of friends from the airport and they were just starving. We opted for something other than snack foods and decided on real food. Then again, what makes Mexican fast food real food anyway. Just kidding. We decided on Moe's Southwest Grill, which was conveiently next to a Starbucks. The restaurant interior was definitely fast food, but arranged in such a way that it could maybe, just maybe be more upscale? i tried their homewrecker burrito and it was decent. The staff were friendly and responsive, but sometimes that can come across as robotic in someways. The prices were a bit on the high side, but you get what you pay for and that's basically what I got. I got my order to go and the quirks about getting a to go order was that the tositos chips were just hastily scooped into the bag. Now I have seen everything, I think. I would have to see if this place is a franchise or whether or not this place is a stand alone place in Burlington VT. Oh well. Overall, I think this place is just decent, but I don't know. Service could be improved just a bit, but it is what it is. C+

We had the burrito which was very good and reasonably priced. Ingredients tasted fresh including guacamole. It came with chips, which tasted normal and fresh and salsa. Would recommend this for fast Mexican food.
(4)Alice L.
This is the first Moe's I've ever been to, love how they all Welcome you the moment you walk in, never gets old haha. Moe's is awesome, delicious burritos and salads and its enough for two meals (if you are a girl). Can't go wrong with Moe's if you are in the mood for Mexican and are very very hungry.
(3)Michelle M.
Was skeptical about trying the assembly line burrito chain but was glad that I did. Just moved into the neighborhood about 2 months ago and I needed a to grab a quick dinner with a friend. This place was perfect. We each got a burrito bowl tailored exactly to our liking and were in and out very quickly. My friend is not a foodie at all and she also is gluten intolerant. They young man behind the counter was very patient in explaining the ingredients and what her options were. I have been back several times since and always have a great experience. Not the place to go if you want authentic flautas or hand rolled tortillas but if you want a bowl or burrito filled with tons of meat, beans, rice, veggies, cheese, guac and all the salsa you can handle, then this is the place for you. Also, I have seen the line get very long, and being in food service myself, I think the crew behind the counter expedited it very well.

WELCOME TO MOE'S is my favorite phrase that Vermont has to offer! My friends and I go to Moe's atleast once a week! They are very fast, good, and reasonably priced! They cater to many EMS people throughout the day and are always happy to remake our food if we get called while ordering or hold on to it for us until we can get back! The people at Moe's are very friendly and strive to please the customer! I highly recommend it!

Oh Moes. What happened? This used to be a, hands down favourite place for my weekly Mexican outlet when my palette required delicious goodness. Those days are over. My first bad experience was last year over at the Williston rd restaurant. Bad customer service and the level of professionalism was a bare minimum. That has now manifested into the quality of preparation, and food, ten fold. Since it's become a slow decline. I mean... I was a regular. My family and I would go almost every week. We'd keep giving them another show. Occasionally having a decent experience. My hopes were shot after a visit a few months ago. The young man preparing my wife's burrito didn't ask if she wanted rice, he just added it. Threw on WAY too many toppings, and then rolled it like an egg-roll, letting everything spill out over the wrapping. After this unsuccessful attempt, he decided to leave it open on the counter and walk away for 5 minutes. While another employee walked over to finally help my behind my wife. The employee looked at the mess, the growing que, and then me saying "I don't know what's going on..." I couldn't do anything but laugh and patiently walk her through what to do. That was the beginning of the end. I've stopping going to the Williston rd shop and started only going to the one located in Williston across from Petco. They were unfortunately plagued with the same level of employees and quality service. Never judging from a single bad visit, I gave this place a few attempts. Tonight was the last time I will ever go to Moe's. The young man preparing our burritos dealt with them as if it was an unworthy task for his time. Didn't ask what type of beans or rice (if we wanted any). He just threw them on after I was met with a blank stare when he asked, "Meat?" It's been a good run Moe's. He wrapped our meals and spilled the insides all over the wrapping. Tossed them in a bag with a handful of chips after my wife and I commented on the horrible job that was just done. Bad management. Unclean. Horrible service. Horrible preparation. Bad food... tasted like it was thawed semi recently. 1 star for the memories. 1 star for the salsas and drink choices. The only thing going for them at this point.

This Moe's location is better than the location in Williston. The employees looked bored but interacting with them was pleasant. They offered to cut the burrito in half since we were sharing. The also gave us an extra basket of tortilla chips without us having to ask which we appreciated. The Coke freestyle machine had a lot more flavors than Williston. All in all if you want Moe's stop by this location for an overall better experience
(3)Donna D.
We used to order the Joey Bag of Donuts every time but it was always too much to eat. This time we ordered the Joey Jr. and the size was perfect! Add a side of guacamole... which BTW is just as good as mine so I really love it! Even though they're busy, they're always cleaning the counters, floors, tables and chairs! WE LOVE GOING TO MOE'S!
(5)Stacie S.
I love Moe's! I go to this location probably once a week when I get out of work and when I do I look forward to it my entire day. At this location in particular the staff is very friendly and they always super load my taco, which is a good thing! It may get messy, but I love that I can get a lot of food for only a few bucks.
(4)Tom H.
It's a great place to eat a huge amount of calories. The variety of sauces is cool. the seating is pretty bad, no ambiance whatsoever... but it's a chain.
(2)Diego R.
WELCOME TO MOE'S! What a friendly way to be greeted when you enter. This is one of my favorite quick bites in the area. Not really all that "authentic Mexican" but that's really hard to find anywhere in Vermont. If you're in search of a quick bite that is a little healthier than your average fast-food this is an excellent choice. And I don't know of another fast-food place where I can enjoy a delicious margarita while having a taco. They also have great deals daily. Last time I visited, on Mondays kids ate for free with the purchase of an adult meal. Keep up the good work Moe's.
(4)lesiel l.
Awful...long wait(20 min) slow assembly. Manager or owner appeared behind counter to make her meal and then disappeared into dinning area to with others. Should have been helping to speed things along. Assembly workers dong their best on a way to short counter. Check Chilpolte! And what is with that soda machine that requires you to go ONE AT A TIME AND TOUCH EVERY ONE ELSE's Grimy fingerprints. That machine needs a good wiping down. UGH!
(1)Allie C.
moe's is awesome! it's fast food mexican style. i love the salsa's and the free salads!
(5)Nolan F.
Burritos like my mother used to make... and that I would expect a restaurant to do better. I had never been to a Moe's before, and it kind of looked like a Panchero's - so I figured I would check it out. But, sadly, Panchero's this is not. The restaurant was busy, but unnecessarily trashed. Many many dirty tables and a pretty filthy floor greeted me as I stepped up to the menu. The young and polite staff asked me what I wanted and walked me through the ordering process. The burrito I received (called the Homewrecker) was pretty huge, so you will be full when you leave, but I wasn't satisfied. Consuming a reckless amount of burritos over the past few years has resulted in me gaining an appreciation for what the different chains do right. Panchero's has the best method and tortillas, Chipotle has the best meat, and Qdoba has a good selection of sauces. Moe's didn't seem competitive in any of those categories. Unlimited chips are a nice touch, but it's nothing to write home about.
(2)Allison D.
We stopped at Moe's while on a road trip. If you're looking to get full, Moe's will do the job, but the food was relatively flavorless. Moe's has nothing in Chipotle.
(2)John C.
It's okay if you want a burrito and there are no other options. Rice is too seasoned... meat is okay... the cheese is cheap-tasting. Cheap cheese destroys the integrity of a burrito. Lettuce is shredded iceberg- I'd skip that. The pico de gallo ain't all that good. If you're famished and just want a big burrito and the other places around town (like New World Tortilla, Boloco, Bueno y Sano, or Don Pedro's) are too far away. Maybe...
(2)Shino W.
A very unique experience, Moe's is certainly not your average mexican. As soon as you enter the door, you're greeted with an enthusiastic "Welcome to Moe's!" shout from the staff behind the counter (which would drive me insane, dunno how they do it), and you are immediately confronted by several large colorful playful menu signs. When you decide and order, they make it right in front of you and put what you want on it buffet-style. They're not stingy with the portions either, the resulting meals are usually huge. Plus, they give you lots of homemade tortilla chips too. I've gone here several times with friends, and always love the atmosphere. Both here and the Willston locations are great to visit.
(4)Randy S.
Filthy, flys in the salsa bar. Staff doesn't keep restaurant clean ever. Both times I came during slow times and both times was dirty. Gross
(2)J T.
Geez people, 2.5 stars?? I love this place, one of the best lunch spots around! Big portions, all the options you'd expect of Mexican style food and then some. Their El Guapo salsa from the chip bar is great as a burrito dip, slightly smoky and really gives this place an edge over others. What more do you want for $8.50?
(4)Bailey Z.
Moe's is like the Chipotle of the East Coast. It's actually a better version of Chipotle with larger menu, margaritas, and a salsa bar. They also holler a warm welcome to patrons. I don't really understand why there are two sizes, especially since the larger size isn't that big. I got the steak quesadilla, which ended up being around $8. It's a little pricey for a quesadilla, but my standards are higher having eaten in San Diego for so long. I also didn't understand why I would be charged extra if I got sour cream and pico de gallo in my quesadilla, but they came free with the quesadilla on the side. At least the food tasted great and came with fresh tortilla chips. I also am a fan of the queso sauce and the variety of salsas from the salsa bar. I later discovered that I had consumed over 1500 calories in that small meal. Bummer.
(3)Dorise G.
I'm sorry, but with soooo many cute and affordable local restaurants in Burlington, why would anyone pick Moe's? I normally like burrito chains (Chipotle, Boloco, Qdoba, etc), so I wasn't diametrically opposed to our stop here, but never before have I had such a *cheap* tasting tortilla, which kind of ruined the whole burrito for me. I like the idea of all of the goodies you can include (sauteed peppers, onions, mushrooms, cilantro, pico, etc), but the salsa, tho in fresh-style, was too mushy, the ingredients on the whole were a little too wet, and the next time anyone asks me to go to Moe's the response will be a resounding "pass."
(2)Brian H.
There's not much I can say that's bad about Moe's. I guess my least favorite item is the fish taco. Even when it's busy in here they manage to feed you pretty fast. Best burrito in town is the Homewrecker. Not the cleanest place but not a sty either. Try it.
(4)Moses G.
I come from Southern California so I know what real Mexican food taste like. This Tex Mex doesn't impress me at all. I think this is a total East Coast thing and the only reason I went in here is my name is Moe.
(1)Brian D.
Yes, I was stupid and tried it again. Moe, get your s__t together PLEASE. I only go here to meet a friend but I will suggest a new place next time. Better experience at McDonald's. Anyone reading this, take my advice. You will be disappointed. If I see ANY 5 star reviews after my two, I'll eat my words, but not at Moe's.
(1)Devon M.
I stand (stumble) corrected; there is more booze than necessary at Moe's.
(4)GnocchiMom G.
Oh, Moe's. Tasty, but not Mexican. Nevertheless, I was pleased wiht the Tex Mex burrito I got. Price point is a little too high, though- burrito, queso and drink $11.84. Additionally, the food is good, but it's still "fast food" in the sense that EVERYTHING is pre made, and the flavors and textures show that. I'm quite certain that Chicken should not be the consistency of tofu... There's something to be said about lettuce with a bit of crisp, chicken with some substance and salsa that isn't in a puddle of drained juice. Also, I fancy some entertainment during my meal, but the music there was just deafening.
(3)Cat S.
Moe's has many options, but all are based around what they're known for: their burritos. Want a quesadilla? You get a burrito with extra cheese. Want a fajita? Do-it-yourself burritos. That said, their burritos are quite tasty and can be large enough to feed two people. Another upside is that Moe's is located next door to a well-known coffee joint, perfect for after-dinner cappuccino and conversation. Moe's one flaw is the atmosphere. It's decor is pleasing and at times, amusing. ("If you don't find the word 'guacamole' funny, you're not saying it right.") The bathrooms are spotless and modern. The workers, however, create endless noise pollution by yelling, "Welcome to Moe's!" every time someone walks in the door. The first time it's cute, the tenth time, it's getting old, and by the thirtieth time, I was ready to jump across the counter at them. I tried moving to the far end of the restaurant, but could still hear them shrieking en masse over the background music.
(3)Tom H.
Moes is a Must! Always great consistent food. Family loves eating here. Burrito sizes are perfect for my 20 year old son. Lunch lines move well and worth the short wait.
(4)cat c.
I've had mixed experiences here. Most of the workers are great; nice, smiling, enthusiastic. However, my most recent experience ruined it for me and I will try to avoid going there again in the near future. The Pro's: - It's *fast* food, for when you don't have time to sit down for a meal or to cook after a long day at work. - convenient location (right between work and home for me) - somewhat decent tasting (could be worse...) - ... i'm running out of pro's to list here... The price is "reasonable" given the cost of other food options in the area, but as another reviewer mentioned, it is not much better than Taco Bell and way more expensive. The Con's: - Expensive for what you're getting ($7 for a Jr Burrito??) - The service is rushed. There was no one else in line and the worker was just slamming items on my burrito and making a huge mess. It's not necessary to be so rushed!! Maybe he was on methamphetamines?? - It's dirty... one of the workers was sweeping the floor and then immediately proceeded to make my burrito. No thanks! Needless to say... I got sick after eating that burrito. Mostly because of that last reason, I am going to avoid going there again in the near future. However, the paucity of food options in the area might prompt me to go there within the next year... :-(
(2)Philip P.
Moe's is a notch above Taco Bell at about two notches more in price. The staff here are fast and friendly compared to the location in Williston. A good value is splitting an order of nachos (a lot of food) with someone and a couple cups of water.
(3)Stephen T.
Not bad if your in a fix. It's a chain so you really cant expect much. The positive side is there's a Starbucks next door :-)
(2)A H.
I shouldn't even give it two stars but I'm feeling generous. Excruciatingly loud and made louder still by the staff shrieking a greeting to every single person walking through the door. Someone mentioned that the portions are huge. So what? Large quantities of bad stuff is still bad. Don't waste your time with this one.
(2)
